      Otters can be found from North to South America, Africa to Asia, and all across Europe. The Eurasian otter can be found from the UK all the way to Asia, and lives and hunts in and around rivers, streams, lakes and other freshwater habitats. Eurasian otters have also been seen to hunt along the coast, but still require freshwater to wash the salt off their coats, which can reduce the waterproofing quality of their fur if not washed off.
