• Question: I know how they fertilize as I found out in a live chat but how do they give birth or create life?

Male scaly crickets transfer their sperm in a sperm packet, or spermatophore. The female stores sperm in a special storage organ (spermatheca) and uses it to fertilize her eggs as she lays them. She lays them in drift wood (and possibly other places) then leaves the eggs (there is no parental care). The eggs then take a whole year to hatch.
